Our Impact

There are 116,000 people in Australia experiencing homelessness

And underwear is one of the most infrequently donated clothing items (for pretty obvious reasons).

Our Mission

Junkmail's mission is to ensure that everyone has easy access to high quality basics, and this isn't just our customers. For every subscription we sell, we donate a fresh pair of undies to Aussie men experiencing homelessness throughout Australia.

Not all people have the luxury of putting on clean underwear every day. In fact, people on the streets can go months without putting a fresh pair on. So although new undies might seem like a small thing in the scheme of homelessness, starting the day on the right foot can do more than you'd imagine.

Our Partners

We have partnered with Orange Sky and Pass It On Clothing to donate hundreds of pairs throughout Melbourne and Sydney in 2019. In 2020, we will continue to do this, while looking to partner with organisations in more remote parts of the country.

Junkmail staff personally deliver the underwear at the sites set up by these amazing not-for-profits, so you know they'll be going directly to people who need it the most. Each subscriber will receive an email soon after their purchase that shows exactly where their undies were donated, and stories of how it's helping individuals.

If you run an organisation that can help us get to more Aussies experiencing homelessness, please reach out to us through the Contact form on the website. We're always keen to hear from you!

Junkmail Undies is committed to protecting the place where we all wear our undies – the planet. After all, it is the only place we have to live. We are committed to implementing sustainable practices into our business and you can follow everything we are doing right here.

Our undies are posted to you in recyclable paper bags, which are made from recycled materials. The bags are certified FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Mixed.

These paper mailers are made from FSC certified wood pulp and are both compostable and recyclable. Further information about this certification, and the FSC in general, can be found here.

We have written a blog post about the packaging, and how it benefits the environment relative to other types of packaging at the Junkmail Undies Blog.

We are in the process of transitioning our product to 95% organic cotton, and 5% elastane. All maroon undies are made from organic cotton and a majority of the black are also organic cotton. You will see an 'organic cotton' label on the inside of the underwear to indicate that it's made from this.

Organic cotton is better for the environment, and better for your skin.

All our organic cotton underwear is certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). The supply chain for GOTS textiles must be compliant to a high level of environmental and social criteria.

More info can be found on our blog.
